Level 3/4 Data Management Consultant

General Description

The Level 3/4 Data Management Consultant is responsible for the leadership role for design, development, sales support, and implementation of our customers’ Level 3/4 data management, data analytics, MES, and reporting solutions.  They will be responsible for building and managing a L3/4 team along with leading and executing projects for our end users.  Currently, the primary solutions that R.E. Mason will implement from Emerson include Syncade MES, Bio-G RTMS platform, and Plantweb Optics Analytics/Data Lakes Digital Transformation solutions.  Along with the Emerson solutions, this leader will be responsible for project implementation of other Level 3/4 data and batch reporting solutions such as OSISoft PI historian, Sytech XLReporter, and Informetric Systems InfoBatch/AgileDocs reporting software.
The Consultant will be a significant contributor and often the lead technical resource on customer projects.  This role is expected to develop solutions with various combinations of the above referenced platforms to serve our customer’s needs regarding operations compliance & scheduling, enterprise historian solutions, facilities energy monitoring/management, reporting (batch, shift, and environmental), and machinery/equipment reliability.

Mason sales process is fundamental to the success of our organization and it is the responsibility of every employee to play a role in the sales process.  The Consultant will be integral to our business development process by providing support to sales, generating estimates and scope definition for proposals, and contributing to operations and project management functions. 

Specific Responsibilities

  • Business Development / Management Responsibilities
  • Engage in Sales calls with R.E. Mason Solutions Consultants and Account Managers
  • Participate in Quarterly Department Meetings, Monthly Sales Team Meetings, Business Unit Strategic Planning Meetings, and Strategic Account Planning Meetings,
  • Contribute to the development of sales and marketing collateral
  • Develop quotation tools and proposal templates
  • Develop our sales force’s knowledge and understanding of products and customer needs/pains in the Level 3/4 Data Management space
  • Travel in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia – approximately 30%
  • Engineering Management Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development of training plans for implementation resources
  • Work closely with Resource Coordinator to allocate technical resources to services opportunities
  • Participate in Monthly Project Engineering meetings and continuous improvement efforts
  • Provide input into the Project Management Office, execution methodologies, and engineering standards
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and efficiency improvements within projects
  • Participate in project pursuit and proposal efforts representing the project execution and project management disciplines

Required Education & Experience

  • B.S. in CHE, EE, ME, Comp. Eng., Comp. Sci., other related disciplines
  • 7+ years of relevant experience; 4 years in a technical role
  • Experience with the following systems
    • Emerson Syncade MES or competitive platforms (Werum, Factory Talk - PharmaSuite, POMS, etc.)
    • Emerson Plantweb Optics Analytics/Data Lakes or other Machine Learning/Augmented Reality software
    • Emerson Mechanical Reliability Hardware/Software
    • OSISoft PI Historian
    • Batch Reporting Software (InfoBatch, RTReports, Crystal Reports, XLReporter)
  • Knowledge of management practices, human behavior, and group dynamics

Preferred Experience/Competencies

  • ISA-95 Enterprise-Control System Integration Model
  • Batch process control/ISA S88 experience
  • Understanding of regulated and validated systems, including FDA, cGMP, and GAMP
