Kathy Shell | VP, aeSolutions

Kathy is the Executive Vice President, aeSolutions, responsible for investing in and building valued relationships with our customers and partners; strategically driving the integration of our talent and resources to deliver sustainable process safety, industrial cybersecurity and safety automation solutions.

Kathy is a professional chemical engineer with 35 years of experience in the process industry. She began her career as a plant engineer with Dow Chemical, before joining an engineering and consulting company and moving up through Process Engineering, Detailed Engineering and Business Management positions.

She joined aeSolutions as the Director of Process Safety in 2010 responsible for the business growth and technical leadership of the traditional consulting and safety instrumented system (SIS) design services. She served as CEO for the company from 2014 to 2017.

Kathy is an active member of the Steering Committees for both AIChE’s Center of Chemical Process Safety (CCPS) and Mary Kay O’Connor Process Safety Center at Texas A&M University. She recently completed her service as the Chair of the 2018 AIChE/CCPS Global Congress on Process Safety.

Kathy received the International Society of Automation Excellence in Leadership Award in 2016 for significantly impacting the United States’ ability to secure its critical infrastructure through Cyber Shield 2016 and for leading and advancing the vision to enhance Industrial Control System (ICS) Cybersecurity awareness, education, and training.

Blair Fraser | Co-Founder and Chief Customer Officer,

Blair Fraser is the co-founder of, a company focused on providing Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence solutions for Industrial applications, Industrial IoT and Smart Industry.

Blair is a passionate reliability and operational excellence professional and evangelist with over 20 years experience in designing, commissioning, maintaining and improving manufacturing equipment and processes for the manufacturing industry. A Certified Reliability Leader (CRL) and Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP), Blair has dedicated his career to combining sound reliability principles and processes with the latest technology to improve asset performance and uptime for several process manufacturing facilities.

Before co-founding to lead the development and implementation of clients Industry 4.0 strategy, Blair worked in and managed the maintenance and reliability programs at various manufacturing plants. Blair has dedicated the past years to learning, experimenting with and deploying machine learning and AI-based PoCs, pilots, and solutions.

John Wilson | VP Final Controls, Emerson

John is the Vice President of North America Sales for the Final Control business within Emerson Automation Solutions. He has been in the process automation industry for 20 years beginning his career with Emerson in 1998, and has held varying roles in engineering, marketing, sales, new product development and executive management. Prior to his current role, he was responsible for leading the acquisition integration efforts of the Pentair Valves and Controls business into the Emerson portfolio.

John holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Nebraska and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Iowa. He currently resides in Marshalltown, Iowa with his wife, Shannon, and daughter, Caley.
