IT Business Analyst | Charlotte, NC

DESCRIPTION

The IT Business Analyst is focused on driving maximum use and getting the full benefit out of IFS, which is R.E. Mason’s ERP system. The ideal candidate will have coding and database skills in order to improve and extend our ERP system’s capabilities using native IFS customization tools, reporting tools, and integrating IFS to other systems and applications.

Being successful in this job primarily involves leveraging resources such as IFS, third party partners, internal resources, and (to a lesser extent) your own hands-on work. Working with R.E. Mason subject matter experts and super users, the IT Business Analyst strives to find the balance between using the system as it was designed and meeting our business needs.

This job is a unique opportunity to work cross-functionally and to make improvements in many different types of business processes and departments throughout the company.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working with super users, SMEs, managers, and consultants as needed, determine optimal processes within IFS to meet business requirements.
  • Define, document, develop, test, implement, and support customizations in IFS to enhance standard IFS functionality.
  • Oversee third-party partners and IFS resources assigned to do development work, training or other services to ensure quality, timely, and cost-effective performance.
  • Develop and document business requirements for integrations and interfaces with IFS to extend IFS functionality or to improve efficiency when conducting business with customers or suppliers.
  • Develop and deliver end-user training both for the sake of determining how to best use IFS as well as to help users execute agreed-upon processes.
  • Oversee testing in order to reduce the risk associated with deployments to production.
  • Maintain the development backlog and progress against priorities.
  • Ensure thorough and accurate documentation of configurations, how-to content, troubleshooting content, and training materials.
  • Ensure that development is consistent with our guiding principles – to use native IFS functionality first, then extend IFS using standard IFS configuration tools, our last resort is to make code modifications only when necessary.

Application Engineer I - Systems and Reliability | Richmond, VA
LOCATION: Richmond, VA

DESCRIPTION

The Application Engineer (AE) role is an integral part of the sales operations team. The position requires excellent communication with customers, vendors and coworkers to deliver a superior level of service and technical support.

The AE must be able to respond to technical and sales-based customer inquiries related to the products and services which the company provides. The AE will work with Solutions Consultants/Outside Sales to pursue day-to-day sales, as well as project opportunities for the company while acting as the liaison between the customer and manufacturer. The primary interface between customer and AE is telephone and email. Customer site visits and off-site training courses may also be required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responding to customer inquiries.
  • Preparing customer quotations and proposal documents. These can include a process control system bill of materials, response to customer specifications, engineering services scope of work and the commercial summary and terms.
  • Reconciling purchase orders against quotations and coordinating proper order hand-off with sales coordinators or project team.
  • Managing proposal development: coordinating across multiple disciplines and driving schedule to meet deadlines. Ensure Sales to Operations (ORB, Ops Review, DOA) process is adhered to.

Valve Services Technician/Specialist | Charlotte, NC
LOCATION: Charlotte, NC

DESCRIPTION

The Valve Services Technician/Specialist position is responsible for the repair, assembly, calibration, and diagnostics of all types of valves and related instruments.

Responsibilities include working with digital instrumentation, valve diagnostics, and associated Asset Monitoring System software platforms such as AMS Device Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Repair relief valves, control valves, on/off valves, pneumatic and electric actuators in REM Shop or customer plant locations – includes performing pre-testing, disassembly, cleaning, in-process inspection, machining, lapping, surface preparation, painting, assembly, testing, and final inspection on various types of valves and actuation
  • Mechanically and electrically troubleshoot, inspect, and test valves at specified job worksites – primary worksites include REM valve repair center and customer in-field work sites
  • Calibration, testing, and troubleshooting of valves, valve related instruments and process instrumentation
  • Assembly of new and repaired equipment
  • Document repair/testing/assembly activities – cause of failure, actions taken, parts used, etc.
  • Customer communication – technical assistance, troubleshooting, quoting/determining disposition of repairs
  • Adherence to all safety, quality and company rules/regulations
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping standards
  • Participation and involvement in Safety, Quality, and Activities Committees.
  • Perform testing using certified test equipment, and complete documentation by working under a QA / QC / National Board VR program

Project Coordinator

DESCRIPTION

The Project Coordinator (“PC”) role is an integral part of the Project Management (“PM”) team and the project lifecycle.  The primary job function for a PC is to provide general project support for multiple project managers. The position entails communicating with multiple entities; customers, principals and coworkers to deliver a superior level of customer service.  The PC must be able to respond to inquiries (principals, internal teams and customers), some technical, but mostly non-technical questions.  The primary interface is telephone calls and email, with occasional in-person visits and meetings.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform routine administrative activities related to project execution.
  • Perform project setup, updates, and close out in the REM business system, IFS.

We are currently offering an opportunity for a Lifecycle Engineer in our fast paced, customer orientated Lifecycle Services team. The successful candidate would assist our Control System engineering customers and project teams in the development, delivery, on‐going maintenance and optimization of state-of-the-art process control solutions for REM’s industrial customers.

This is a customer-facing position requiring travel to our customers’ manufacturing sites to help commission and maintain their control systems. Candidates must be able to work with customers in a professional manner while working under pressure during process startups and while troubleshooting issues.

Typically, scopes of work include control panel grounding verification and commissioning, software installation and staging of server and network equipment, performance audits, performing cybersecurity assessments and system patching, designing virtual computer infrastructure, and troubleshooting electrical and equipment issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • 80-90% Regional travel to customer sites (25-50% overnight) within North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia
