Switchboard Operator | Charlotte

LOCATION: CHARLOTTE, NC

The Switchboard Operator is a critical role for R.E. Mason. We are looking for somebody who is energetic, eager to learn and able to handle multiple tasks without issue.

This position is the first face that people see, and the first voice that people hear when contacting our company. The successful candidate will be in charge of directing all incoming calls, greeting all visitors, prospective job candidates and customers at our offices. Additionally, this position is responsible for handling all incoming US Mail, UPS and FEDEX packages, as well as all outgoing mail. Other responsibilities include processing of incoming purchase orders, placing office supply orders and other administrative tasks as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Phone support for the multi-phone system, and relay messages to the team.
  • Receptionist, greet visitors, customers, and vendors as they enter the main lobby.
  • Open and distribute incoming mail.
  • Handle outgoing mail, shredding, and other office tasks.
  • Disperse purchase orders and quotes to associates.
  • Support office team with miscellaneous projects as needed.
  • Order office supplies.

Application Engineer I - Charlotte, NC

LOCATION: CHARLOTTE, NC

DESCRIPTION

The Application Engineer (AE) role is an integral part of the application engineering, inside sales, and customer service team. The position entails communicating with multiple entities; customers, vendors and coworkers to deliver a superior level of customer service and technical support. The AE must be able to respond to technical and sales based customer inquiries related to the products and services, which the company provides. The AE will work with Account Managers to pursue day-to-day sales as well as project opportunities for the company while acting as the liaison between the customer and manufacturer. The primary interface is telephone calls and email. Customer site visits may also be required occasionally.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Respond to inquiries from customers
  • Perform sizing and selection of pressure regulators, pressure relief valves and control valves, actuators and other process control instruments with occasional oversight needed
  • Creating valve assemblies through use of stock components, bill of materials
  • Preparing daily quotations and project bids, with occasional oversight needed
  • Reconcile purchase orders against quotations, and processing orders from receipt all the way through shipment and invoicing
  • Troubleshooting technical issues via telephone with customers
  • Develop relationships with customer accounts and pursue/qualify sales opportunities
  • Keeping up with new technology and industry trends
  • Review of terms and conditions for contracts/purchase orders

Lifecycle Services Engineer

LOCATION: Richmond, VA / Raleigh, NC / Charlotte, NC

DESCRIPTION

We are currently offering an opportunity for a Lifecycle Engineer in our fast paced, customer orientated Lifecycle Services team. The successful candidate would assist our Control System engineering customers and project teams in the development, delivery, on‐going maintenance and optimization of state-of-the-art process control solutions for REM’s industrial customers.

This is a customer-facing position requiring travel to our customers’ manufacturing sites to help commission and maintain their control systems. Candidates must be able to work with customers in a professional manner while working under pressure during process startups and while troubleshooting issues.

Typically, scopes of work include control panel grounding verification and commissioning, software installation and staging of server and network equipment, performance audits, performing cybersecurity assessments and system patching, designing virtual computer infrastructure, and troubleshooting electrical and equipment issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • 80-90% Regional travel to customer sites (25-50% overnight) within North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia
  • Perform System Performance Audits on customer systems
  • Distributed Control System commissioning and startup
  • Distributed Control System troubleshooting and problem resolution
  • On-site control system modifications and tuning

Systems Engineer – Process Control Systems & Automation | Raleigh/Durham, NC

LOCATION: Raleigh/Durham, NC

DESCRIPTION

The successful candidate will be a significant contributor on our Project Execution Team. The System Engineer will work in the development, delivery, and commissioning of state-of-the-art process control systems and solutions for R.E. Mason’s industrial customers. R.E. Mason uses the technologies provided by Emerson Process Management – DeltaV Distributed Control System (“DeltaV”), Asset Management System (AMS) and other Emerson solutions.

The Systems Engineer will have close interaction with the Project Technical Lead Engineer (“Tech Lead”) who will be managing the configuration development. The Tech Lead will provide coaching to the System Engineer to ensure the work adheres to technical standards and guidelines, and is completed with the high level of quality expected by our customers.

The Systems Engineer will also provide aftermarket (“Lifecycle”) and staff augmentation support to customers. Typically, this includes modifying existing control strategies, implementing small scale expansion projects and assisting with process optimization projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implement control strategies within the DeltaV DCS that are used to interface with and control physical devices such as valves and pumps within the plant environment. This will include:
    • Configuring and testing control and equipment modules classes and instances
    • Configuring and testing batch control strategies including phase classes and recipes
    • Configuring custom dynamos, graphic displays, and trends
  • Develop system design documentation for a variety of continuous and batch process control applications
  • Support Factory Acceptance Tests (“FAT”s) / Software Acceptance Tests (“SAT”s)
  • Support start-up and commissioning activities at customer sites
  • Troubleshoot system hardware, software, network, and instrument bus technologies
  • Configure and commission wireless field networks
  • Configure DeltaV Continuous Historian and integration to 3rd party Historians such as OSI PI
  • Develop custom shift, environmental, or production reports for plant maintenance and operations personnel
  • Configure process modeling & simulation (using both Mynah MiMic software & DeltaV)
  • Travel in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia – approximately 25%
